August is almost over....

And I haven't posted anything in a while! That doesn't mean things haven't happened, quite the opposite...
My cousin and her kids visited in early July (need to get pictures from Jennifer)

While in St. Louis we got to see the Bohnert's and Aunt Janet and Uncle Gary Schmidt (Again, need pictures from Jennifer)

Followed by a visit from his cousin from California and her family

And Granny and Grandpa coming for a weekend to visit

In between all those exciting weekends have been almost weekly play dates at a friends house on Eagle Lake, blueberry picking (yummy), play time at the parks, our Toddler Book Club based on the Playdate with a Purpose activities, and several fun times with friends!

Oh, and swim lessons for both (well, really for Drew, but I get in with Lily too)!
I will post pictures of all these as soon as I get them uploaded!

Sometime this summer, Drew has become a little boy! He talks all the time, and the weird thing is, he no longer repeats what we say... he comes up with his own ideas and puts them together into sentences and stories. He's also starting to imitate Mommy and tell Lily to do, or not do, something... followed by a very similar explanation that I've given him;) He is into every sport he can learn and loves playing outside with Daddy.
Lily is a toddler! She's walking all over, LOVES shoes (yes, even a babysitter noticed this obsession... Lily brought her shoes over and made her put them on so she could walk around with shoes). Either she REALLY loves shoes, walking is easier with shoes, or my floors are too cold (I admit, the tile gets cold). But, I'm thinking I need to buy her some slippers to wear around the house instead of her outside shoes. She is learning some sign language, but still prefers to grunt and point. But her personality cracks us up!

We've had a great summer, but I'm looking forward to the "school-year" routine too! MOPS starts this week! I'm excited to be on the Steering Team for our MOPS group and be involved in planning the year for the moms and kiddos. I've been trying to plan some activities for the kids. We'll continue Gymboree classes; Drew will have a Sports class and Lily will take Music. Their classes are at the same time, so Drew gets time by himself and I get one on one time with Lily. And, I'm going to stay in swimming class a bit longer too! Lily is our water baby and Drew is finally getting comfortable in a pool where he can't touch the bottom.
