Andy and I continue to enjoy listening to Drew's vocabulary and ability to converse grow. Here's tonight's back and forth

Setting: I'm rocking Lily in her room as we're doing bedtime routine. Drew walks in...

Drew: Mommy, where water?

Me: (remembering that his water was left on the rocking chair and that I put in on her nightstand) Right there.

Drew: (looking at the nightstand and spotting his water) Oh. (walks over, picks it up and looks at me) Thank you, Mommy (in his super cute thank you voice!)

Me: You're welcome, Drew.

Simple, I know.... and, maybe you have to be here to "get it".... but when he talks like that in a situation that isn't routine and we still get Thank Yous, well, it makes me smile.
